A leaker going by "Kamila" on X claims to have accurate pricing info for the Pixel 8 phones ahead of the Oct. 4 unveiling. According to the leaker, the info comes straight from the mothership at Google. The leak claims that the Pixel 8 will cost $699, a $100 increase over last year's base Pixel 7. Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 Pro is the same price as the Pixel 7 Pro, coming in at $899.

There are obviously some caveats to this. As TechRadar pointed out, the pricing graphic doesn't mention base storage capacity at all. The Pixel 7 started at 128GB, but if the 8 starts at 256GB, that would help to justify the price hike. One thing the graphic doesmention is a sharp increase in refresh rate, going from 60Hz on Pixel 7 to a maximum of 120Hz on Pixel 8. That would definitely help explain the price increase.
