NBC News and MSNBC's national political correspondent appears to have barely slept since Election Day on Tuesday, much like his counterparts on other networks, holding the fort in front of his touch-screen election map while furiously scribbling down notes, doing the math, and providing updates as they roll in — all somehow with the chipper enthusiasm of someone who hasn't been doing this for hours on end.

After about 18 hours of straight broadcasting, the network finally forced Kornacki to take a break— his colleague Ali Velshi reportedly told anchor Ari Melber when he took over, "We have removed him forcibly from the building … He's in a room with pillow, blankets, and warm milk." Sure, sure.
