The company is also appointing deputy station managers to oversee couriers, though order assignment processes remain unchanged. A person familiar with the matter said the hiring push likely stems from limited HR capacity amid soaring demand. JD.com’s food delivery now fulfils more than 25 million daily orders after just over four months of service, with over 1.2 million restaurants onboard and more than 120,000 full-time couriers. JD.com chairman Richard Liu said up to 4,000 couriers are being hired daily, pushing total staff toward 900,000 by the quarter’s end.
